Restore or replace your smile with dentures.

Are you missing most or all of your permanent teeth? If you would like to restore the beauty and functionality of your smile, Dr. Bryce E. Justesen may recommend dentures in Mesa, Arizona. A denture is a removable appliance that restores your smile by replacing missing teeth and tissues. Our office offers complete dentures and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing. Partial dentures are used when some of the natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw.

Understanding Dentures

Complete dentures are either conventional or immediate. Conventional dentures are made after any remaining teeth have been removed and the gum tissues have had some time to heal. Conventional dentures are placed about eight to twelve weeks after the teeth are removed. Immediate dentures are prepared in advance, so they can be placed as soon as the natural teeth have been removed. The patient does not have to go without teeth during the healing process. However, the gums and bones shrink during the healing process. Because of this, immediate dentures are usually only considered as temporary dentures.

Partial dentures are made of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored base. This is sometimes supported by a metal framework that holds the denture in place.
